So yeah. Two weeks no update on the deer project. Oops. I blame my period. And Fallout 3. Anyway, ~Eliea (https://www.deviantart.com/eliea)'s deer pelt is DONE. THANK FRIGGIN GAWD. It has a teensie bald spot. but WHATEVER. We began my deer this week, only difference is mine has the head. (technically so does hers but we lobbed that bit off.) I never knew how exhilarating it is to remove a deer's skull. He was a bleeder too, partially because I think he went straight into a trash bag after being skinned. He's in the pickle now, which means I have oodles of fun face skinning pictures to share. LET THE FLOODGATES OPEN.

ANYWAY DEER PROGRESS. ~Eliea (https://www.deviantart.com/eliea) and I have been slaving away at salting the pelt in an attempt to draw out the moisture to prep it for the pickle. Let me tell you right now that any notion of "oh well that sounds easy" or "yay salty goodness" are DEAD WRONG. It's defiantly not fun. Or clean. It doesn't help matters that it was 97 out yesterday. Oh well. The end justifies the means. Be ye warned: bending over a salty deer hide is dangerous business. Especially when a wasp is buzzing around trying to find a place to nest. E
